American Electric Power Agrees to Implement Neptune's MTX950 Mobile Collection System
TALLASSEE, ALABAMA, [August 17, 2005] – Neptune Technology Group Inc. and its wholly owned subsidiary, DB Microware, announced today it has reached an agreement with American Electric Power (AEP) (www.AEP.com) to implement the Neptune MTX950 Mobile (drive-by) Collection System within portions of AEP’s service territories.
AEP, an investor-owned electric utility serving more than five million customers in parts of 11 states, will implement Neptune’s MTX950 mobile collection system in the Charleston WV, Fort Wayne IN, and Roanoke VA areas. AEP plans to utilize the tight integration capabilities of the MTX950 system with their previously implemented Neptune FieldNet® utility field service automation suite. In addition to drive-by automatic meter reading (AMR), AEP’s implementation of the MTX950 solution will also include service order data gathering and coincident meter read capture.
“AEP’s decision to purchase Neptune’s mobile system further reinforces the market’s acceptance of our Power of Choice approach”, says Neptune President Charles (Chuck) DiLaura. “The powerful combination of Neptune’s mobile systems and the FieldNet software developed by DB Microware offers utilities a high performance, yet economical alternative to other systems.”
