With residents calling in to complain of broken meter boxes and covers, and with an average of 12 refunds per month due to customer complaints, the City was determined to bring the meter reading back in-house and get a better handle on maintenance. Tavares adopted Neptune’s R900® mobile RF technology, which can read meters in less than a day. Refunds are down to one a month, and on average, the City is achieving 6-7% Non-Revenue Water.
