Moving Multiple Utilities Forward with Neptune’s Migratable R900® System
The Oakland County Water Resources Commission was sending out 10-12 personnel – nearly a third of its staff – every day to get manual meter readings from a portion of the total 45,000 accounts. Between the manual reads and the problem of aging meters throughout the system, accuracy suffered and estimates were common for quarterly billing. With implementation of the R900® System for mobile AMR, the Commission eliminated walking routes for mobile AMR, using just half of former readers, achieved automatic reads with 99% accuracy and 99% read success, and freed staff and resources for maintenance and capital improvement.
