In 1964 Neptune began with a vision to automate the revenue cycle for utilities – accurately measure and collect consumption data to generate a bill without the need for a site visit. The introduction of the industry’s first Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) system, Neptune’s original Automatic Reading and Billing (ARB^®) System, was developed to solve problems that all utilities shared — to efficiently and accurately read inaccessible meters and bill their customers.  Currently there are 2500 utilities using Neptune’s ARB Utility Management Systems ^TM .  

Using Neptune’s ARB Mobile System, meter readers can now collect more than 20 times the number of readings in the same amount of time, with typical read success rates of 99+%.  In addition, ARB Mobile improves meter reader safety and eliminates hard-to-reads and estimated bills.
